Makri
The quiet fishing village with its simple tavernas, little harbour and the
 Cyclops's Cave right above it, is ideal for a casual lunch or dinner. Surrounded
 by its famous centennial olive grove with acres of olive trees up to 2,500 years old, planted in prehistoric times and continuing to give their oil generously, this place is really unique.
The cave of Cyclops Polyphemus
Located above the port of Makri, myth has it that in this cave lived the Cyclops Polyphemus, blinded by Odysseus and his companions. The large impressive rocks that lie, as if thrown by a huge hand, down to the sea, are said to be the ones thrown by the Cyclops, out of his anger. Nearby, you can visit the traces of a Neolithic settlement dating back to around 4,500 BC, one of the most important in the Balkans.
Alexandroupolis
Explore the modern city that was founded as a fishing village in early 19th century and grew into an important commercial center, with its port, airport, railway and highway. Visit the many museums.
Visit the lighthouse
Archeological, Historical and Ethnological, admire the biggest lighthouse of Greece walking at the promenade overlooking the Thracian sea and enjoy a rich nightlife with many restaurants, taverns, bars and cafes.
Samothrace
One of the top masterpieces in the Louvre, the Winged Victory of Samothrace was found in this amazing island, worth visiting by ferry from the port of Alexandroupolis (2 hours trip).
The temple of the Great Gods
Spend the day discovering the Sanctuary of the Great Gods, exploring the islands' famous waterfalls, hiking in wild nature and tasting the delicious food.
Dikella Beach
The area’s  best sandy beaches are located just in few minutes walk or drive from the Villa. Visit Agia Paraskevi for swimming and lunch at the taverns on the beach, eat fresh fish at Ai Georgis with stunning sea view, or enjoy traditional Greek food at the village of Dikella.
Ancient Via Egnatia
One of the largest and most important military and commercial roads of antiquity, the Egnatia Odos, was built between 146 and 120 BC. by the Macedonian proconsul Gnaios Egnatius and connected Rome with its conquests in the East.
The Archaeological site of Mesimvria Zone
Zone was a thriving colony of the island of Samothrace. This important Greek colony was established in the end of the 7th century and continued to develop until the Roman conquest. At the archaeological site, near the village of Dikella, one can see among others, the ruins of the marble sanctuary of Demeter and the temple of Apollo.
Evros River Delta
Just southeast of Alexandroupolis, where the Evros River reaches the Aegean, 188 sq km of coastal lakes, lagoons, sand dunes, swamps and reed beds harbour an immensely rich amount of wildlife. In the spring migrations, thousands of wader birds pause here to feed in the nutrient-packed waters. One of the most important wetlands of Europe is really worth your visit.
Traianoupolis ruins and thermal springs
This important Roman city, located fourteen km east of Alexandroupolis and  south of the community of Loutro, was founded by the emperor Marco Ulpius Trajan (98-117 AD) on the axis of the famous Egnatia Road. The famous springs of Traiano, which have hosted Emperors and Sultans, are still operating today with recognized thermal springs.
